CALENDAR & SCHEDULE
A rhythm for learning.
Time for what matters.
Classes, projects, relationships, and community—all have a place in the School Alive day.
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”
George Washington
The school year.
School Alive follows a typical 180-day calendar from August through May. Full-time students attend Monday through Friday. All school times are Eastern Time.
Event changes are announced through school communications. The Quarter One Passion Show has moved to Friday, October 9, 6–8 PM. The downloadable calendar still shows the original October 10 date. See Events for the update and Gala details.
EIGHT COURSES. EVERY QUARTER.
Seven disciplines. One personal passion.
Each quarter, full-time students take one course in each HAMSTER® discipline—Healthcare, Art, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Religion—plus a custom Passion course designed for them.
Think of these focused quarterly courses a little like merit badges: opportunities to explore a subject, build practical skills, and complete meaningful work. The Passion course helps each student develop their God-given interests and gifts.
The school day, made clear.
The seven levels rotate through the seven HAMSTER disciplines, with Passion in Period 8. The A/B schedule uses four 80-minute periods each day. The traditional schedule uses eight 40-minute periods.
