Answer
Bring your fears to God and take the next faithful step. God assured Israel of His presence; Hebrews also reminds Christians that He will not abandon them. Trust does not remove every difficulty, but it gives us courage to obey and seek wise help.
Scripture 1
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, NIV). God reassures His people that they are not abandoned. Their courage rests in His presence, strength, and faithful help—not in their ability to control every circumstance.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalms 56:3-4, NIV). David names his fear and turns to God in trust. Faith does not require pretending that we are never afraid; it gives us Someone to trust when fear comes.

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5-6, NIV). Hebrews grounds Christian contentment and courage in God’s promise not to abandon His people. Our deepest security comes from His faithful presence, rather than money or the approval of others.

Context
Old Testament · Through the prophet Isaiah, the Lord speaks to Israel, His chosen servant and the descendants of Abraham. In Isaiah 41, the nations tremble and turn to powerless idols, but God assures His people that He has chosen them and has not rejected them. Verse 10 grounds their courage in His presence and power. This assurance is rooted in God’s covenant faithfulness; it is not a promise that every difficulty will disappear.

God does more than tell His people to stop being afraid. He gives them a reason for courage: He is with them, He is their God, and He will strengthen and uphold them. His righteous right hand is an image of His power exercised faithfully and rightly.
This promise first addressed Israel. Hebrews 13:5–6 also assures Christians that God will not abandon them. In Christ, we can bring our fears honestly to God and rely on His help. Trust does not guarantee an easy outcome or excuse reckless choices; it gives us courage to obey, seek wise help, and persevere through difficulty.
