The Forge Training Center

The Forge Training Center is a dynamic and comprehensive martial arts and fitness facility. It offers a range of classes including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Krav Maga, specialized firearm training, combat conditioning, and the refinery program. The center focuses on creating a community and family atmosphere where members make a valuable investment in their lives.

 

Their training extends beyond physical fitness to include Senaptec training, which enhances cognitive functions and aids in recovery from traumatic brain injuries. The Forge is committed to safety and realism in training, utilizing non-lethal simunitions for realistic firearm training scenarios.

 

The team at The Forge is led by Rob Mendenhall III, the owner and Krav Maga instructor, and includes professionals like Brad Maddox, a BJJ Coach, and Nicole Mendenhall, a Nutrition Coach. Together, they foster an environment where members can train, grow, and excel both physically and mentally.

Dr. Rachel Anne Day

Dr. Rachel Anne Day earned her undergraduate degree at Purdue University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University. Over the past 33 years, she has practiced dentistry in Glenview IL, Westborough MA and for the last 17 years in Lafayette IN. Being self-employed for 30+ years, Dr. Day brings with her a depth of business experience and expertise. As a dental care provider Dr. Day is passionate about maintaining her commitment to professional excellence and remains a continual student of the art and science of dentistry. In her commitment to continuing education, Dr. Day has been active in organized dentistry at both the local and state levels in two states, serves as a local leader of an international study club, and has been recognized by her peers with induction to both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.


Dr. Day has been blessed by her career in dentistry and remains passionate about blessing others in her professional circle. This passion is seen as she mentors employees new to the industry, mentors college students who aspire to become a dentist, and as she mentors new colleagues navigating the challenges of being a new provider on the island of self-employment. A continual seeker of knowledge Dr. Day balances her experience of 33 years with the advances afforded to us through research and development to provide her patients with individual solutions and opportunities for optimum oral health.

 

Dr. Day and her husband, Michael Davis, are the parents of three adult children (all married) who reside in Pittsburgh PA, Seattle WA and Lafayette IN. In her personal time Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, family, hiking, reading and experiencing anything new.

Mrs. Saundra Kay Whiddon

Mrs. Saundra Kay Whiddon is an award-winning local artist whose work is displayed at the iconic Fowler Mansion in the upstairs gallery, the Lafayette Transitional Housing building, Logansport, Indiana Artists’ Avenue, Columbia Park Memorial Island, private shows at TAF, and local libraries. She paints weddings, monthly sermon paintings, local outdoor art, and special events art. Saundra is a native Texan who relocated from Texas to Lafayette to be near her children. She loves spending time with her family, painting, sculpting and singing. Saundra teaches art workshops for corporate entities, church organizations, art groups, and private events.


Her work has been shown at the Butler Longhorn Museum, Barbara Bush library, galleries in the Galveston Art walks, the Sportsplex in Houston which houses one of her sculptures entitled “Most Precious Offering” Ltd ed 3, Silk Stocking Art Gallery and numerous art shows in the Houston area. Saundra won First Place for her entry in the National Daughters of the American Revolution Heritage Contest entitled, “Most Precious Offering”. She taught art to home-schooling programs, adult municipal programs and held the position of art director for public relations firms in the Houston area. Saundra belongs to multiple organizations including LSAG and the Houston Art Federation. She has many years of experience in designing and creating theatre sets for traveling troupes like Arizona State University’s Childrens’ theater group, acting as a parade float designer for individual organizations and municipalities. Saundra tutored native American children in Oklahoma and Arizona. She also wrote a local art column. It is her conviction that all of her talents should be used to glorify God through speech and using those gifts to enrich the lives of others. Her passion is to teach others how to develop their gifts.


Saundra studied at Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, Texas, Corpus Christi State University (currently Texas A&M Corpus Christi), Pensacola Christian College and Berean Bible College, Springfield, Missouri. She has taught art, history, science and drama in private schools and charter schools. Saundra is an ordained minister and has ministered in music and message throughout Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, including Oral Roberts’ Victory Campgrounds missionary conference.

Mrs. Angela Sue Bridwell

A Crawfordsville, Indiana native, Angie earned her accounting diploma from Indiana Business College. For over 15 years, she worked in accounting, financial reporting, and administration management at Indiana manufacturing companies including Inland Container and Masterguard Corporation. Following her time in manufacturing, she worked for three years in higher education as an administrative assistant to the Director of Career Services at Wabash College in her hometown.


Now a mother of four and grandmother of three, Angie homeschools her youngest children. Alongside her husband Jason, she serves as a Sunday school teacher and small group leader at their church, Church Alive. Angie has served in the children’s program with Bible Study Fellowship for over 7 years. Her faith is an essential part of her life, as she strives to be a devout Christian wife and mother.


With decades of experience in accounting and administration, Angie is adept at communication and management. Her background in manufacturing industries also gives her insights into that sector. Angie is deeply rooted in her Lafayette, Indiana community through her work, volunteering, and family life. She is dedicated to education, both professionally and as a homeschooling parent.
